AWARDED FOR
The best WRITTEN paper presented by a Computer Society of Zimbabwe member either at a CSZ function or at a function organised by another professional body.

BACKGROUND
Award initiated in 1974 at the inaugural meeting of the CSZ Bulawayo Chapter by Engineer Jack Carlisle of the National Railways of Zimbabwe.

OBJECTIVE
To encourage CSZ members to present papers at Society functions and to prepare formal written papers for these.

THE AWARD
A silver floating trophy, to be awarded at the Society AGM and to be retained by the recipient until the next AGM.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS
Members who wish their papers to be considered for the J F CARLISLE AWARD must submit their papers to the CSZ Secretariat by the end of May each year.

ADJUDICATION PANEL
The adjudication panel, comprising at least two senior members of the CSZ and a moderator who is also a senior member of the Society, to be appointed by the Chairman of the Technical and Publications Standing Committee, in May each year.
