AWARDED FOR
The most outstanding contribution in the promotion of Information Technology to young people in Zimbabwe, not necessarily by a CSZ member.
BACKGROUND
Initiated in 1994 by Geoff Fairall FCSZ and donated to the Computer Society of Zimbabwe by the IT consulting company G R Fairall (Pvt) Ltd.
OBJECTIVE
To encourage the promotion of IT awareness among the young people of Zimbabwe and to give recognition to outstanding effort in this field.
THE AWARD
Floating trophy in the form of a silver giraffe, to be presented at the Society AGM.
SUBMISSION OF NAMES OF CANDIDATES
Names of persons to be considered for the G R FAIRALL AWARD must
be submitted to the CSZ Secretariat by the end of May each year.
Submissions should include proof of work done by the candidate in the promotion of Information Technology to young people in Zimbabwe,
and a citation giving full details.
ADJUDICATION
The award to be judged by a panel appointed by the President of the Computer Society of Zimbabwe based on nominations received.
