1. The Computer Society of Zimbabwe has two Types of Membership:
INSTITUTIONAL MEMBERSHIP for organisations, and
INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP for individuals.
2. There are seven different Individual Membership Grades:
Honorary Members }
Fellows }
Members } Corporate Grades
Associate Members }
Affiliate Members
Graduate Members
Student Members.
3. Among these, four are Corporate Membership Grades entitled to vote in matters concerning the Computer Society:
Honorary Members
Fellows
Members
Associate Members.
4. The four Corporate Membership Grades are for professional Information Processing practitioners, and there is a stringent Code of Professional Conduct for members within those grades. These grades are attained by individuals who possess the required qualifications and experience levels.
5. The grade of Affiliate Member is for any individual with an interest in Information Processing, and requires no specific qualifications or experience. Affiliate Members are required to abide by the CSZ Code of Ethics.
6. The grade of Graduate Member is for an individual who has attained the necessary qualification but still gaining the necessary experience for corporate membership status. Graduate Members are required to abide by the CSZ Code of Ethics.
7. The grade of Student Member is for bona-fide students registered at recognised educational institutes, and studying for qualifications in Information Processing fields.
8. The requirements for each of the different membership grades are listed in the Constitution, which is the last section in this handbook.
9. It is the responsibility of the Professional Development (Membership) Committee to review the Membership grading requirements annually
10. The Harare and Bulawayo Chapter Committees approve admissions to the CSZ, and adjudicates membership grade requests on initial applications for membership, and on applications for regrading. An independent Moderator appointed by the President reviews the grading decisions of the two Chapters.

APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP OR RE-GRADING
1. Applications for Institutional Membership must be accompanied by one year's subscription
2. Applications for Student Membership must be accompanied by one year's subscription and proof of bona fide student status, such as a letter from the College or University
3. Applications for individual membership or regrading must be accompanied a non-refundable processing fee (waived for applications for Institutional and Student membership). The FULL annual fee will be required on completion of adjudication, and the certificate will be issued only when this been paid. Thereafter subscriptions will be billed on anniversary of date of membership admission
APPLICATION FOR ACCREDITATION OF TRAINING INSTITUTE
4. Applications by training institutes for accreditation with the Computer Society of Zimbabwe must be accompanied by an application fee which is used to cover costs of inspection of the applicant's training premises, and the annual Accreditation fee for the first year payable in advance.
